Overview
A professional hotel equipment trader headquartered in Singapore, supplying business and leisure hotels across multiple European countries. The project required a customized charging alarm clock Bluetooth speaker for hotel-room use.
The Challenge
Bluetooth audio, alarm clock and wireless charging had to work together in one compact device. Long-term power connection made charging heat and standby safety critical, CE-RED and RoHS documents had to match the production model, and hardware, software and material versions needed to stay locked across multi-year repeat orders.
The Solution
FLS designed the device around hotel-room use, integrating the three functions into one architecture and optimizing software logic for standby and charging management. Charging heat was evaluated, CE-RED and RoHS compliance was handled within development, long-duration power-on aging tests were conducted, and approved versions and materials were locked for repeat production.

Hotel Room Electronics, Not Consumer Products
A product installed in a hotel room may stay connected to power for long periods and must serve guests with very different habits. This case involved a Singapore-based hotel equipment trader supplying projects across Europe, which needed a customized device combining Bluetooth audio, an alarm clock and wireless charging — designed around hotel-room use rather than simply stacking three consumer functions together.
The Challenge
Bluetooth audio, alarm functions and wireless charging had to work together inside one compact enclosure. Because hotel-room devices can remain powered for extended periods, charging heat and long-term standby reliability required additional engineering attention. CE-RED and RoHS documentation also had to match the actual production model, and hardware, software and material versions had to stay locked across multi-year repeat orders for European new-build and renovation projects.
FLS Solution
FLS designed the product around the hotel room-use scenario, integrating the three functions into one architecture while optimizing software logic for standby behaviour and charging management. The team evaluated charging heat and operating conditions, completed CE-RED and RoHS compliance as part of development rather than as a post-production step, and ran long-duration power-on aging and reliability testing. Approved hardware, software and material versions were then locked, with after-sales spare-parts support.
Project Results
The customized charging alarm clock Bluetooth speaker was successfully implemented and exported in significant quantities to hotels across multiple European countries, supporting new construction and renovation projects. CE-RED and RoHS compliance and long-duration aging validation were completed, and the customer continued placing repeat orders over several years with stable performance across batches.
